comes to your mind? Is it a person who leads the pack in

1. The Benevolent – While giving you freedom,
he also monitors your work. These bosses help you in focusing more

2. The Nurturer – Gives you freedom, guidance
and support. However, the only danger is that you might get over
dependant on him.
3. The Over-Enthusiastic – This kind is result
oriented, therefore he ‘only’ works.
4. The Cut and Dry – He is purely professional,
believing in minimum talk. The advice to the employees is to work
honestly and be in your toes.
5. The Non-Delegator – He believes in doing
everything himself, even after delegating the work. These bosses
expect you to work as “yes men”.
6. The Fastidious – As the name suggests,
this boss will find loopholes in your work and thus is very hard
to please and work with.
7. The Yeller – He praises openly and has
a golden heart. You will adjust after receiving a few good shouts.
8. The Impulsive – He is impulsive and frequently
alters the pros and cons in a given situation. When things go wrong
as a result of his quick decisions,
he is likely to blame you. So analyze your data fully before taking
it further.
9. The Volatile – Highly emotional and volatile,
but with a great heart. Ensure close follow ups on matters of importance.
10. The Indecisive – Again as the name suggests,
he requests so much that the proposal or issue dies a natural death.
Not much can be expected under this regime. The employees have to
learn to work in the status quo.
No matter what kind your boss is, one thing has to be remembered
is that he too is a human being, with his highs and lows. Knowledge
of boss management can stimulate better performance, so the relationship
with the boss should be strong, kind, bold, thoughtful, humble and
proud.

1. Solicit Feedback – don’t be afraid
to ask for feedback about your work.
2. Keep the lines of communication open –
share the information with your boos constantly.
3. Avoid Gossip.
4. Be a Team Player – develop this skill.
5. Manage conflicts and disagreements – when
you’re feeling unfairly criticized, discuss your concerns
rationally with your boss in a non-confrontational
way.
6. Build Trust - make every effort to maintain
honesty and dependability by honoring commitments and deadlines.
7. Be Practical – manage your emotions.
